Volunteer opportunities

Volunteers are valuable members of the PLAINVIEW CHINESE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION team. As a volunteer at PCAA, you can learn more about our community service, gain valuable experience and make long lasting friendships. Our volunteer opportunities are flexible and can be tailored to suit your interests and schedule, whether on-site or off-site.

All PCAA volunteers receive Zoom training and orientation from PCAA coordinators to ensure they are well-prepared for their roles. Even if you’re unsure about where you may fit in, we’re here to assist you in choosing an opportunity based on your background and experience.

Volunteering Requirements:

At PCAA, we value individuals who are caring, compassionate, and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of others. This is an opportunity to harness your unique talents and skills to create meaningful experiences while gaining valuable exposure to our community.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum Age: Volunteers must be at least 14 years old to volunteer at PCAA.
  2. Interview: All applicants are required to undergo an interview process.
  3. Junior Volunteers (Ages 14-17): In addition to the interview, junior volunteers must submit working papers and provide a letter of recommendation from a guidance counselor or teacher.
  4. Code of Conduct: Volunteers are expected to adhere to our standards of conduct, which include professionalism, courtesy, punctuality, compassion, and respect.
  5. Mandatory Orientation: Applicants must attend a mandatory volunteer orientation session.
  6. Commitment: Volunteers are expected to commit to a minimum of 50 hours of service per calendar year.
  7. Application Process: To apply, please complete the application form and email it to [email protected]. If a placement opportunity is available, you will be contacted for an interview.
